Cookie Policy
Last Updated: March 9, 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar storage technologies are used on Terkip. You can set your choice through the consent banner on your first visit and change it later at any time from the Cookie Preferences action in the footer.
1. Cookie categories
Terkip manages cookies and similar storage in three categories:
- Necessary: Required for sign-in, security checks, and core site functionality. This category cannot be turned off.
- Preferences: Stores persistent interface choices such as theme, tool layout, and announcement dismissal state.
- Analytics: Loads Google Analytics to measure aggregate and anonymous site usage. This category is enabled only when you explicitly consent.
2. Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Category | Type | Purpose | Retention | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
tp_session | Necessary | First-party cookie | Keeps signed-in sessions secure and active. | 30 days | Terkip |
oauth_state | Necessary | First-party cookie | Protects request integrity during the Google sign-in flow. | Short-lived, until the flow completes | Terkip |
tp_consent | Necessary | First-party cookie | Remembers your cookie choices. | 6 months | Terkip |
theme, my-tools-collapsed, md-editor-width, terkip-dismissed-announcements | Preferences | Browser storage | Stores interface preferences and chosen view states. | Until you change or clear them | Terkip |
_ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Analytics cookies | Produces aggregate traffic and page usage statistics. | Up to 2 years | Google Analytics |
3. Analytics consent and withdrawal
Google Analytics is not loaded unless you enable the analytics category. If you later withdraw consent, Terkip attempts to clear existing Google Analytics cookies where possible and stops new analytics storage.
4. How preference storage works
If you do not allow the preferences category, theme and similar settings are kept only in memory for the current view and are not written to persistent browser storage. When you enable preferences, those settings can be stored persistently again.
5. Browser controls and more information
You can also remove or block cookies from your browser settings. However, disabling necessary cookies entirely may prevent parts of sign-in and account security flows from working as expected.
For more information about how personal data is handled, see the Privacy Policy.
